Key Terms and Definitions

Batch Size: The quantity of items produced in a single production run.

Consigned: Inventory that is in the possession of a customer but still owned by the supplier until it is used or sold.

Country of Origin: The country where a product was manufactured or produced.

Do Not Source: A flag indicating that a particular line item does not need to be sourced.

Excess Cost: The additional cost incurred when purchasing more than the required quantity.

Excess Quantity: The amount of inventory that exceeds the required or optimal quantity.

Extended Price: The total price for a line item, calculated by multiplying the unit price by the purchase quantity.

Lead Time: The time between placing an order and receiving the partl

Line No.: A unique identifier for each line item in an order or bill of materials.

MOQ: Minimum Order Quantity - the smallest amount of a product a supplier requires you order.

MPN: Manufacturer Part Number - a unique identifier assigned to a part by its manufacturer.

Manufacturer: The company that produces the part or product.

Manufacturer Lead Time: The time it takes for the manufacturer to produce and deliver the product.

Mount Type: The method by which a component is attached to a circuit board (e.g., surface mount, through-hole).

Multi: Multiple - often refers to the quantity increment in which a part can be ordered.

Notes: Additional information or comments about a part or order.

Other / Package Price: The price for a specific package or alternative pricing option.

Package: The type of container or wrapping used for a part or product.

Part Description: A brief explanation of what the part is and its characteristics.

Part Issue: Any problem or concern related to a specific part.

Product Doc URL: The web address where product documentation can be found.

Product Status: The current state of a product in its lifecycle (e.g., active, obsolete, end-of-life).

Product URL: The web address where the product information can be found.

Purchase Quantity: The amount of a part or product being bought.

Quantity Required: The amount of a part or product needed for production or inventory.

REACH Status: Compliance status with the European Union's Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals regulation.

RoHS Status: Compliance status with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances directive.

Source Name: The name of the supplier or source of a part or product.

Supplier: The company providing the parts or products.

Supplier Lead Time: The time it takes for the supplier to deliver the product after receiving an order.

Supplier Part Number: A unique identifier assigned to a part by the supplier.

Total Quantity: The sum of all quantities for a particular part or product.

Total Stock: The total amount of inventory available.

UOM: Unit of Measure - the standard unit used to quantify a part or product (e.g., each, pair, dozen).

Unit Price: The cost of a single unit of a part or product.

Unit Quantity: The number of items in a single unit (e.g., 1 box might contain 100 units).

Edit Column Names: A function allowing users to modify the names of columns in a spreadsheet or database.

New Column: A function to add an additional column to a spreadsheet or database.

Batch Sheet: A document or spreadsheet containing information about a specific batch of products.

Add Sheet: A function to create a new sheet or tab in a spreadsheet.

Sheet Type: Batch: Indicates that the current sheet is categorized as a batch sheet, likely containing batch-specific information.
