Sending RFQs

How to Create an RFQ using Breadboard:

  1. Select Line Items: ◦ Navigate to your BOM and select the line items you want to send out for RFQ. Click the check boxes next to the desired items to select them.

  2. Click Create RFQ: ◦ In the upper right-hand corner, click on "Create RFQ."

  3. Set Up Your RFQ: ◦ Give your RFQ a name. ◦ Opt in to automated follow-ups if desired. ◦ Set a due date for the RFQ.

  4. Select Suppliers: ◦ Choose the suppliers you want to send the RFQ to for each line item. ◦ Ensure you have a contact associated with each of these suppliers. Tip: ◦ You can create a group of suppliers (e.g., PCB, wire, cable, etc.) to streamline the selection process in the future.

  5. Edit and Preview Content: ◦ Edit the content that will be sent to each supplier. Customize the message for each supplier if sending to multiple suppliers. ◦ Add your work email as a CC to receive a copy of the RFQ.

  6. Send the RFQ: ◦ Once you are ready, click "Send" to dispatch the RFQ to the selected suppliers.

  7. Manage RFQ Updates: ◦ Return to the project and navigate to the RFQ tab at the project level. ◦ Here, you can view all supplier communications, ask follow-up questions, and pull the shared pricing back into your quote.

By following these steps, you can efficiently create and manage RFQs using Breadboard, leveraging the platform's tools to streamline your procurement process and ensure effective supplier communication.
